McDonalds All American Game

Last year the McDonald's All American game came to Chicago but it was while we were in Disney.  When I found out it was staying in Chicago this year we couldn't resist the opportunity to go and watch.  We opened up the invite to Austin's basketball team and ended up with 20 people attending the game.  It was fun and quite amazing to see these high school kids play ball.  They are HUGE and amazing!

Spring Break - Brookfield Zoo

After having unually warm weather, the week of Spring Break was not that warm.  We planned to stay home for Spring Break so we ventured off to do some fun "local" stuff.  Brookfield Zoo was the choice on this day.  It was a little chilly but the animals were out and we enjoyed the break from school.

Reagan LOVED having everyone together.  She doesn't like being left home alone all day while the other kids are at school.

Austin's friend Ben joined us for the day.

Mitt wins Illinois!

Mitt Romney came to our neck of the woods and we couldn't resist getting to go see him.  We chose not to meet him at $2500 per person at one of our neighbors homes but instead we drove to Schaumburg and saw him at the hotel for his victory party!  It was a fun time.

St. Patricks Day and Mythbusters at MSI

Mythbusters Exhibit was coming to the Museum of Science and Industry this year.  Our family loves this show and we didn't want to miss out on the exhibit!

Austin and Kiersten got to ride a Segways around the museum.

One of our favorite parts of the MSI is watching the eggs hatch. We could stand there all day watching the eggs.

Austin would not conform and wear green on St. Patricks day...we kept telling him that "one of these things is not like the other!"

The first Saturday of the exhibit also happened to be St. Patricks Day and Chicago celebrates in a big way!
THEY TURN THE RIVER GREEN!  http://greenchicagoriver.com tell the story and history but they have been doing it for 43 years!  Totally worth the trip!

Fun day - BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!

Warm Day in MARCH!!

Many places in the US had unusually warm weather this year and it was no different in Chicago!  We hardly had any snow - no snow days from school - no days below zero and it was LOVELY!

This particular day in March was 78 degrees...after preschool I scooped up the kids and we went to the park.  In this area - the weather can rule your life.  If it is nice in March YOU MUST GO AND ENJOY!  We didn't let the sunshine and pretty weather escape.

The parks were not prepared, the bathrooms were locked and the water fountains were off but we were thrilled to be swinging in March!
