We had a low key celebration for Brandon. In fact, we are starting to wonder if we are abusive parents because we don't really have traditional birthday parties for the kids. No pony rides, pin the tail on the donkey, etc. We haven't really even had parties at Chuck E Cheese, McDonalds or the like. I guess they'll get over it, or have good therapy sessions later in life.
We did however, create the awesome Batman logo on the cake above. It started out as the logo and kinda ended up like a bad jack-o-lantern. Brandon was gracious and said it looked good, for which he was promptly given five more dollars in birthday money!
I went a little heavy on the blue food coloring for the frosting, but the kids didn't mind. This all occurred on a Sunday afternoon while Marci was taking a nap (I know most of you can't believe she was taking a nap - but it was true) so she awoke to a bad cake with too much food coloring.
Everyone had a good time celebrating his birthday. Hard to believe he is six.
