The Snow Week Saga...

I thought I would mention our snow week saga just as a memory...hopefully the school won't hold this against us. Monday, January 19th was a school holiday - MLK, Jr. Day. Well the storm was coming and a chance of snow. Usually that doesn't mean much in NC but low and behold it did snow. Tracy lives 5 hours east of us on the coast and it NEVER snows at her house. They canceled Tuesdays school for her on Monday at 4:00 for the next day. Well, Charlotte woke up to snow but Tracy woke up to rain...(why are we out of school again?) is what they were thinking, but sure enough that afternoon it started snowing at her house! CRAZY! They were using boogie boards to go sledding - funny huh! So now they have been out of school on Monday and Tuesday and are already scheduled to have the Friday and Monday off for teacher work days and report cards.

Well Wednesday came and we had a 2 hour delay but Tracy's school was cancelled AGAIN! So by now she is fed up at home while my parents are at my house. They called said that since the kids were out on Tuesday and Wednesday that now they needed to attend school on Friday and Monday. WHAT>!>! We had a long weekend party planned...so Tracy jumped in the car on Wednesday and came anyway and the kids missed the entire week of school!

We decided that family was more important and that my mom's birthday and us leaving was reason enough for missing so much school. I kept my kids home also and we just played...
