Family Pool Party August 10th

The days of summer spent in the pool.  Growing up with a pool was a great thing.  Having a pool and living in the desert was a really great thing.  Hot dry days are just meant for laying around at the edge of the pool.  The kids take to water like fish and loved being at Grandmas.

My parents built the pool almost directly under their deck, almost.  It is just far enough that everytime a kid jumps off the deck, you wonder if he will hit the cement, the water or the diving board.  No accidents so far!

I think all the kids got in on the jumping game and would run up the stairs, to the gate and into the pool.  Even Brandon made the leap.

We were lucky enough to have most of my mom's extended family come up for a party while we were in town.  My uncle Larry and aunt Nan came up with their family and it was great to see them.  They both have been very supportive and interested in our lives.  They love to golf and have been competitive in local leagues and also have tons of other things that they do, art, writing, etc.  Really great people, and we're lucky to have them as family.
My cute little sister and her husband, Jed.  Everyone is very considerate to make time for us when we visit.
My niece Allie is getting very grown up.  She looks so much like Kim.

Brandon even got some diving lessons from aunt Nan.  A great summer day.

I'm not sure what to say about this picture...next year, I'll have a body double to save your eyes the pain.

Grandpa and the grandkids.  Really a hard time to beat.  We played lots of cards, cooked out and enjoyed time with our family.
