We have not had the chance to visit North Carolina since we left, so we decided it would be a good idea to visit this summer and celebrate the fourth of July with Jared and Tracy. In fact, we thought it was such a good idea, that we decided to drive straight from Chicago to Swansboro - sleep is for wimps! We did great from about four in the afternoon until four in the morning, but then we hit the wall. We ended up stopping at a rest area for a half hour of sleep and then back on the road for the final six hours. Not sure we'll do that again.

Once Grandpa Dean heard we were going to be in town, he promptly jumped in his car and drove across country to be with us, or something like that!
Our cute girls! They are sure growing up.
We huddled on the neighborhood dock and watched fireworks from five or six different little towns. Great weather and great hosts.
