We decided to take down part of the swingset and move the firepit. This was a nice Saturday project and it turned out great. I am thankful Matt can just do it. It was a beautiful evening and we got to enjoy our hard work. We also planted a few new flowers.
We had thrown our fire pit together when we first moved in and it was on a small hill and never really fit that well, so we decided to do it right, with an actual fire ring. The kids had a good time egging me on and helped to place the bricks. We also designed a small bench with the leftover monkey bars, so now we can sit close enough to roast mellows without having to haul chairs around.
The kids are good sports about working in the yard, and even though they complain while doing the work, they always like the feeling of accomplishment and the look of the yard when we are finished.
