Austin's 11th Birthday

Austin had a great birthday this year. Grandma Jody and Grandpa Bob were in town for the celebration and we had fun. Mom made his favorite cake - pound cake with strawberries on top.

We had a fun day, topped off with a game of Uno. Brandon is our Uno champion. He will occasionally "take it easy" on you in the game, but will remind you the whole time that he is letting up. He loves Uno, and normally wins. All non-number cards are 'evil' cards and he will show no mercy, even on Grandma. We get a good laugh out of Brandon.

Funny - whenever the fire pit comes out, Marci disappears. It is like a repellent. We had warm days and cool nights in April and the fire pit was fun. Austin loves to cook smores and hang out outside.

Getting birthday wishes from our families in Utah.
Austin has been dying for an ipod touch. He started working Marci and me late last year, hoping to get one for his birthday. We had decided that they were too much money and that he would have to wait. We told him if he could save enough money, we would let him buy one, but we were not going to pay for one. So, as you can see below, he took his birthday money, combined it with his lawn mowing money from last year and bought the ipod. He was soooo happy.

He also got another surprise from Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dean. They sent some money to buy him roller blades. His feet have grown so much this past year, his old ones did not fit. He is sporting a size 12 roller blade!! Hard to believe. Every Saturday he takes them to the park and rides around while Brandon is playing soccer.

Did I mention we have alot of UK gear? I don't think Austin noticed the sign until we stopped to take his picture by it. We also had the roller blades sitting in the hall for three days and he didn't notice them either. I guess 11 year olds can be oblivious.

iPod money - thanks Grandma and Grandpa!!!
