Merry Christmas from the Smith family to you and yours. 2010 was a great year for us, filled with blessings and fun times. We continue to make our home in the Chicago area, enjoying the city and the many fun things to do here. It is hard to believe another year has come and gone! Here is a quick update on our family – We wish and hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
Reagan turned two in May and also turned into the commandant of the household. She has a certain way of doing things – which is the right way, and we’ve learned to conform. Reagan is a joy to have around and we laugh with her often. She likes to be at home and requires that we take our shoes off when we get home, which I suppose reduces our chances of leaving?!
Brandon is six and is still the funniest kid in our household. He has a great imagination and often runs through the house with a shield, sword and dart gun chasing enemies and having fun. Brandon has discovered the computer and loves club penguin, his “pets” and other games. Brandon has a very soft heart and cares deeply for those around him.
Kiersten is in the fourth grade and has developed a number of talents this year. Like Austin, she loves to read and is tearing through books. She continues with piano and added basketball this year too! Kiersten is very talkative and loves to share her experiences with Marci and I, however, when anyone else is in the vicinity, Kiersten becomes as quiet as a church mouse! We laugh about this often and look forward to the day she talks out loud…
Austin has turned into the family sports nut. He has discovered Sports Center (for which I am grateful), and he kept us up on World Cup soccer, NBA, MLB, NFL and every other league imaginable. He played football for the first time and has continued to play basketball and soccer. Austin takes care of our family, babysitting for us occasionally and making sure the home front is well.
Marci and I stay as busy as ever, between running the kids around, serving in the church and trying to date each other – we have our hands full. We’ve both picked up running, no actually running, and we think we enjoy it – at least it keeps us in shape.
We enjoy so many wonderful blessings and have a great family and great lives. We try to emulate our Savior and find joy in serving in God’s kingdom. Merry Christmas!
