We have become really good friends with Mike and Mary Alcorn who live on our street. They have 3 boys - age 7, 4, 22 months. This has been a tough month for them. The little one was diagnosed with a brain tumor and will undergo surgery to remove it on Monday, March 10th. It has been such a shock to all of us. Our prayers are with their family as they go through the coming weeks that everything will go well.
Mike and Mary both played college basketball (so we relate well!) and our families have a great time together. She has taught me how to make some true "italian" foods and we have helped each other out many times. Many of you know the Drapers who lived next door to Mike and Mary - they came to visit over Presidents day weekend from Alabama. It was like old times visiting, cooking and letting the kids play.
We decided to go Monkey Joes one rainy day last week because it was a safe place for Matthew to run and play. Here are some pictures of us with our friends...
Poor Kiersten is always the only girl with this group but she usually holds her own! What a crew!

Looks fun! Matthew is so cute - I have been thinking about them lately as Isaac is the same age. Mary was so nice when we visited last year.
Ally tends to be the only girl a lot. Most of the kids in the neighborhood are boys that are 4 or 5. She does pretty well, but tries to coherse the boys to play house, dolls, etc...sometimes they do. Probably not much longer though as they are getting older.
